The Omokoroa Domain Beach is a safe reasonably shallow sandy sheltered bay, but it is tide dependent. To make the most of your time in or on the water it is best to plan your activity 4 hours either side of a high tide to maximize the water available in the bay. The average depth at high tide is approximately 1.3 metres before entering the main boat channel, where it can drop down to 6 metres with a steady current. The monthly tide times for the summer season are available by selecting the month of interest to the right.

The incoming tide flows right to left, with a brief rest at high tide of approximately forty minutes before turning and swinging the direction of the moored boats around and return in the direction of the main wharf to the right of the Domain Beach.
